Lyz Luidens (they/them) is a genderqueer printmaker, bookbinder, letterpress and paper artist based in Detroit, MI. Lyz combines their experience as an educator, social worker, and  collective and community organizer to explore how the internal worlds of individuals coalesce or conflict in community with one another.

Lyz graduated from Wayne State University in 2023 with their Masters in Social Work, and the University of Michigan Penny Stamps School of Art and Design in 2013 after completing a BFA in printmaking. They provide therapy at the Michigan Center for Traumatic Stress, and have extensive experience teaching in and out traditional classrooms and studio spaces. Lyz has completed multiple teaching artist residencies in the city of Detroit, as well a having participated in group and solo exhibitions. As a therapist and an artist, Lyz seeks to weave their interdisciplinary experience and interests into their studio practice.
